Teacher Training Projects for Secondary School, U.K.
As part of a Post Graduate Certificate in Education in Design & Technology, students were required to create and make numerous projects designed to suit students of all ages, from 11 to 17. These projects covered Electronics & Systems, Resistant Materials, Textiles Technology, Metalwork, Woodwork and Toolmaking. Teaching plans and schedules were required for each project providing a demanding task.
Laser cut puzzle utilised 2D Design CAD, laser cutting and handskills for younger students.
Wooden box made using various wood joints with a sliding lid, printed using sublimation printing.
Jitterbug robots explore the use of electronics, mechanics and material processes, whilst encouraging young student's creativity.
Electronics and soldering skills were used to create a moisture tester for soil indicating when watering of plants is needed.
A Textiles Technology project designed to upcycle a pair of jeans by making them into a bag. Inside the bag are the jeans pockets for holding objects, a separable purse and scented fabric heart.
A simple desktidy project for young students is aimed at teaching plastic cutting, finishing and bending skills. Creativity skills are also explored.
A challenging project for young students, aimed at honing woodworking skills alongside teaching mechanics and the importance of making parts correctly to ensure the item works properly.
A light aimed at promoting the use of waste materials whilst using simple joining techniques to create a beautiful product.
A speaker made by using simple circuitry and upcycling a sweet box, to create a cool and fun speaker for students.
