Fun Teepee: Sakaramenta, Malawi

The Fun Teepee was designed for a lodge and event venue in Malawi. An inexpensive small playground item was needed to cater for the toddlers that attend their playground. Fun Teepee also acts as a shelter from the hot sun.

The Fun Teepee uses fun colours and handpainted animal images of Native American influence to appeal to childrens fun imaginations.

I chose to use native american animal symbols to decorate the teepee. The bear represents strength.

Each designer at Sakaramenta chose a symbol they would like to put on the Teepee. The turtle represents creativity.

Three consistent colours were used on all three sides to keep continuity throughout. The eagle represents a divine spirit and connection to the creator.

One side was kept similarly coloured to the existing playground equipment so as to provide an aesthetically pleasing addition to the playground.

Fun Teepee provides a welcome playhouse, hiding or resting area to compliment the other playground items.
